DocReel turns documents into narrated videos. This page explains what we collect to do that, who else handles it, and how long we keep it. Questions: hello@docreel.app.
What we collect
- Your email address, to sign you in (we email a sign-in link; there are no passwords) and to email you when a video is ready.
- The documents you upload and the text we extract from them.
- What we make from them: the video script and the video file.
- Account records: your plan, how many videos you've made, and when.
We use one cookie, to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We may use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page visits without cookies.
How we use it
Only to run DocReel: to make your videos, show them to you, email you about your account and videos, enforce plan limits, and prevent abuse. We don't sell your data or use your documents for advertising.
Who else processes your data
- Cloudflare hosts the website and stores accounts, documents and videos.
- Our rendering server, a server we rent and operate, reads your document, voices the narration and renders the video.
- Anthropic (Claude) receives your document's text to write the video script.
- OpenAI receives the narration text for languages our own voice engine doesn't speak.
- Resend sends our emails.
Anthropic and OpenAI process this data under their commercial API terms, which don't allow them to use it to train their models by default.
Who can see your videos
Anyone who has a video's link can watch it — that's what makes sharing work. Only share the link with people you want to see it.
How long we keep things
- Uploaded documents: deleted after 30 days.
- Videos: kept for 30 days on the Free plan, and for as long as your plan is active on Pro.
- Your account: until you ask us to delete it.
Your choices
Email hello@docreel.app to get a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account and everything in it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above; for significant changes we'll email signed-up users.
